Leptospirosis Outbreak

Due to flood here in Manila now, DOH now warned to be careful for the possible increase in cases of leptospirosis and other flood diseases, specially for affected areas. This is bad news for everyone, just today I watched on news that hospital has more patient who have this problem now.

Leptospirosis according to wiki , is transmitted by the urine of an infected animal and is contagious as long as it is still moist. Although rats, mice and voles are important primary hosts, a wide range of other mammals including dogs, deer, rabbits, hedgehogs, cows, sheep, raccoons, possums, skunks, and even certain marine mammals are also able to carry and transmit the disease as secondary hosts.

We must all be careful, we must have proper hygene everyday. Will continue to cooperate and care to our Mother earth. We are now suffering calamities, famine, flood and etc!
